He is currently involved in the realization of an artistic autobiographical project, which seeks to tell the story of characters, from fairytales, allegoric and symbolic characters, inspired by magical realism, which will narrate the story of the travels to the insides of the thought of the protagonist, throught forms of communication such as language, visual and sound narration, imagined as musical cinematography, and of how those articulate in the non linear time of memory, in the reign of the surreal and metaphysical of the human mind.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Andrea Albanese

Andrea Albanese (Naples, 1991) begun playin the drums at the age of eight. At the same time, he develops a strong passion for painting and drawing, and is attracted by illustration. He continues persuing both art expressions. One while attending the high school for applied arts in Naples, and the other, when, at the same time, he takes up his first drum lessons with a private teacher, after year of self-teaching. By the end of high school, he finds interest in electronic music, music production and sound design, and composes his first pieces, in the style of ambient/IDM and glitch music, after which he starts private lessons in composing, musical analysis and classical harmony, which leads him to a degree at the Nut Academy, a school for electronic music production and digital arts, where he fortified his knowledge in recording, mixing and mastering.

In 2016, he starts studying electroacoustic composition with prof. Elio Martusciello, at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples, and he graduates three years later with the highest grade.

In this period, he devolps interest in concrete music, noise and visual art , and shapes his own, quite intimate, artistic project, based on the fusion of viusal arts; drawing-painting, sound art and arts connected to new technologies, a work which becomes the base of his thesis.

 

Andrea is a two times Erasmus student; in 2017 at the HKU in Utrecht (Netherlands), and in 2019 at the EAMT in Tallinn (Estonia) He is currently finalishing his master degree in electronic music.

 

Instruments and techniques used: drums, percussions, keyboards, shynthesizers, microphones and self-constructed instruments. Laptop and controllers. Drawing, painting, audiovisual composition and installations.
